AN UNFORGETTABLE DISCOVERY
In the heart of the Basse-Terre mountain range, Parc des Mamelles devotes 4 hectares of tropical forest to the conservation of rare or threatened animal species. Located on the Route de la Traversée, at the edge of the Guadeloupe National Park, this park is distinguished by the tranquility and perfectly natural character of the area. A true modern-day Noah’s Ark, it is home to some 85 animal species from the Caribbean and French Guiana, divided among mammals, birds, reptiles and arthropods – more than 450 individuals. All evolve in a lush green setting composed of more than a thousand plant species. An ideal temperature and an optimal humidity level provide them with a most pleasant living environment.
